Hadrian's Wall Half Marathon 2026

The sixth edition of the Hadrian's Wall Half Marathon is a trail event that follows sections of the Hadrian's Wall Trail and finishes in Hexham. The walk is scheduled for Saturday 10 October 2026 and the run for Sunday 11 October 2026.

The event distance is Half Marathon – 13.5 miles. Start and registration take place at Housesteads Roman Fort on the Military Road and the finish is at Tyne Green Country Park, Hexham.

The route follows the Hadrian's Wall Trail Path for approximately 6 miles, then descends to Newbrough and passes through woodland to join the Tyne Riverside Trail Path. The final 5 miles are flat as the course approaches Hexham and Tyne Green Country Park.

This is an A-B event. Runners must book the shuttle bus to the start or arrange their own drop-off at Housesteads. A bag drop is available at registration and all bags will be transported to the finish. The event is cani-cross friendly with one well-controlled dog per runner required to remain on a lead.

Participants set off in staggered groups of 75 to 100 to protect the historic site; start slots are allocated based on estimated finishing time. Live chip timing is provided by Timing Up North. All finishers receive an event T-shirt, a medal and a snack. Public car parking is available in Hexham town and car sharing is encouraged.
