A new 5K loop at Dunnikier Park, Kirkcaldy on 29 August 2026 as part of the Running Festival, with mixed surfaces, a one hour time limit, and a minimum age of 12.

Aberfoyle Trail Run 2026 includes a scenic 10k on mixed trails and a flat 1k for primary school children, both fully marked and electronically timed. Proceeds support Aberfoyle Primary School and local community groups.

September 2026

A timed eight hour loop challenge in Borders Forest Park where runners complete 4.366 mile laps tracked by electronic wristbands, with lap totals determining half, full and ultra marathon results.

A five hour multi-lap endurance run at Carron Valley around a medieval-style village, with solo and relay team categories, torchlit evening laps, encouraged fancy dress and themed awards for top lap counts and best costumes.

Test your endurance at MacTuffX Livingston with interval based distances of 400m or 800m. Register for solo categories or join forces with others in the doubles and relay team formats.

A 40 mile ultra along the River Ayr Way from Glenbuck Loch to Riverside Stadium, with a 2- or 3-person relay option. Water and checkpoint support are provided, drop-bags conveyed, and transport to the start is available for a fee.

A 22.4 mile circular challenge walk from Callander that circumnavigates Loch Venachar with about 1,020 m ascent. The route follows tracks and paths and includes checkpoints at Bochastle and Brig o'Turk.

A varied-terrain 10k around Loch Long near Arrochar on 19 September 2026, organised under UK Athletics rules with chip timing, medals for finishers and category prizes, and post-race prize giving and homemade cakes.

A trail ultra across the Ochil Hills offering 30 mile, 50 mile and a limited 100 mile option. Marked routes include checkpoints with water, GPS tracking and chip timing, with medals for all finishers.

A 30 km hill race from Traquair House to Broughton Ales across the Scottish Borders with roughly 1500 m of ascent. The route uses hill tracks and open heather, has eight marshalled checkpoints and requires mandatory emergency kit.

Trail running festival at Dalkeith Country Park on 27 September 2026 offering distances from a family 1 mile to an ultra marathon. Courses use woodland, firm paths and grassy stretches and one well-controlled dog per runner is allowed.

October 2026

A multi-discipline mountain race from Kinlochleven featuring a Loch Leven swim, mountain and gravel bike sections and a run up Ben Nevis. The 73 km route includes 7,874 ft of elevation.

Mud Madness at Chatelherault Country Park mixes obstacles, water hazards and muddy fun with a 1 km children’s run and a 5 km family run; entries and family tickets are available through the organiser.

A 57 mile point to point ultramarathon from Glasgow to Edinburgh in October, run mainly on canal towpaths, tarmac and concrete. The race limits entries to 750, features live GPS tracking and checkpoint support with a 16 hour cut off.

Run through Scottish history at the William Wallace Running Festival. Choose between a fast, flat 10km past Stirling Bridge or a family-friendly 1 mile fun run. Both events start and finish at Stirling Cricket Club on 10 October 2026.

A trail running festival in Aberfoyle on 10 October 2026 that marks its third edition, featuring the returning half marathon and a 63 km ultra across multiple race options.

An annual charity trail 10 km at Eglinton Park in Ayrshire on 11 October 2026, supporting Release Ayrshire for World Mental Health Day. The course is fully marked with marshals, and finishers receive bling and donated home baking.
