Hermitage Trail Runs 2026

The Hermitage of Braid and Blackford Hill will host a set of trail runs on 22 Nov 2026. The event includes off road routes that are clearly marked and marshaled.

Distances offered:

  • 10 km trail run
  • 5 km trail run
  • 1.2 km festive fun run

Both the 5 km and 10 km races follow a one lap course that starts at the Hermitage of Braid house and follows routes up and over Blackford Hill. The routes are described as challenging and run entirely off road.

The 1.2 km festive fun run is aimed at children. All fun run children entrants will receive an elf hat to wear and take away, and festive wear is encouraged. All proceeds of the fun run will go as a charitable donation towards Friends of the Hermitage and Braid and Morningside Primary school.

After each race participants are offered a post race drink and snack and a race memento. The event information notes that routes are marshaled and signposted to support runners on the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
