The event at the Hermitage of Braid and Blackford Hill includes trail runs over three distances:

  • 10km
  • 5km
  • 1.2km festive fun run

The 5km and 10km races follow a one-lap course that starts at the Hermitage of Braid house and goes up and over Blackford Hill. The routes are off-road, clearly marked and marshaled.

Course details, charity and extras

Proceeds from the fun run are donated to Friends of the Hermitage and Braid and to Morningside Primary School. Children entered in the fun run receive an elf hat to wear and take away; festive wear is encouraged. Participants are offered a post-race drink and snack, and a race memento is provided.
