The Ardgartan Trail Race is scheduled for 7 February 2026 at Ardgartan Forest Park (Ardgartan, Arrochar, G83 7AR). The route is approximately 21 (ish) miles with about 3,500 ft of ascent. The course is about 90% off road and follows a loop of the Ardgartan Peninsula. Terrain includes some tarmac, forestry trails and an open hill section across to Lochgoilhead, then a climb back up to the Rest And Be Thankful and a final downhill to the finish. The route may be changed if forestry works or storm damage affect the forest. UTMB points: n/a.

Logistics and requirements

There are two water stations at about 7 miles and 13 miles; these are provided primarily for safety given the time of year and possible poor weather. Parking at Ardgartan Car Park is limited and car sharing is requested; additional parking information is issued in the race briefing. Runners must carry mandatory kit, details to be issued in the pre-race briefing sent three weeks before the event. Mandatory items include a full size foil blanket, a working mobile phone with the race control number, trail food, means to carry water and a small first aid kit. Recommended items include waterproofs, hat and gloves, extra layers and sun protection. Entry rules state no transfer of places, no muling, no walking poles, no dogs and no use of NSAIDs during the race. Refund and deferral policies are published by the organiser.
