Dunoon Ultra Marathon 2026
The Dunoon Ultra Marathon marks its tenth edition on 22 Aug 2026. The event uses the Loch Eck Loop as the main route, covering a measured distance with significant elevation gain and varied terrain along both shores of Loch Eck and views toward the Holy Loch and Firth of Clyde.

- 52.22 km, 983 m elevation (solo ultra)
- Relay Leg 1: 20.16 km, 634 m elevation
- Relay Leg 2: 16.13 km, 189 m elevation
- Relay Leg 3: 16.7 km, 288 m elevation
The route includes rolling hills, long climbs, fast descents and some short road sections. It is fully signposted and staffed by marshals, with two checkpoints that offer refreshments and dropbag access. A GPX file for the route is available for download from the event map; the route may be subject to minor alterations.
Age limits apply: 20 years or older for the solo ultra, 18 years or older for relay runners. Compulsory safety kit is required and details are provided before the event. Teams are responsible for moving members to relay changeover points.
Finishers receive a medal, a custom race buff, refreshments and a post-race massage; race t-shirts were available for purchase before entries closed on 4 July. The organiser sets refund, transfer and conduct policies including a cooling off period, staged refunds, no deferrals and removal for cutoff violations. The organiser’s decision is final.
