Ardgartan Trail Race 2027
The Ardgartan Trail Race is scheduled for 06 February 2027 at Ardgartan Forest Park, Ardgartan, Arrochar, G83 7AR. The event is a roughly 21 miles foot race with about 90% off road terrain following a loop of the Ardgartan Peninsula.
The route includes short sections of tarmac, forestry trails and an open hill section across to Lochgoilhead, followed by a climb to Rest And Be Thankfull and a final downhill to the finish. The course passes through hilly terrain and multiple waterfalls.
Two water stations are provided at 7 miles and 13 miles for safety because of the time of year and possible poor weather. Runners are required to carry mandatory kit for the season; the full kit list will be outlined in the race briefing sent three weeks before the event. That briefing will include the requirement to carry a small first aid kit for running repairs, and competitors must read and understand the briefing as failure to do so may lead to disqualification.
Parking at Ardgartan Car Park is limited so car sharing is requested where possible; information on additional parking will be provided later. Route changes may be necessary if storm damage affects the forest over the winter period. A t shirt is available as an optional extra. The event will be held under an Association of Running Clubs Licence and may follow Covid 19 rules if required.
