Series format and schedule

South By Five visits six parks over a 12 week period. A 5 km event is held at each park and entrants can enter single events or the full series. To complete the series and earn the "Fiver" designation, a participant must complete five of the six races. The six park dates are:

  • Kings Park – 2 November
  • Linn Park – 16 November
  • Rouken Glen – 30 November
  • Pollok Park – 14 December
  • Bellahouston Park – 4 January
  • Queens Park – 18 January

The final race is followed by a gathering and prize giving at a local bowling club near Queens Park.

Entry, fees and other details

Race entry is free, but a mandatory minimum donation to the Acorn Trails Community Fund is required. The organiser may offer place transfers and operate a waiting list. Series entries include a condition: if a participant fails to attend two of the first three events, their series entry will be withdrawn and offered to the waiting list without refund. Additional sign-up options include merchandise. Each park will have an organised litter pick. The series supports the charity Give A Dog A Bone.
