Cairn Table Hill Race

Muirkirk, United Kingdom • 15 Jul 2026

Event Overview

The Cairn Table Hill Race is a hill running event located in East Ayrshire. The race takes participants on a 7.2 km route up Cairn Table. This is a specific hill race rather than a trail or cross-country event, and it involves traversing rough and unmarked terrain.

Course and Safety

The race route is not marked, and there is no on-course support provided during the event. Participants are expected to be self-reliant and comfortable navigating hills and uneven ground. Due to the nature of the terrain, fell shoes are required for all runners. There are no sources of drinking water available along the course.

Organizers may perform kit checks before the race begins. Participants are required to stop and assist any other runners who are injured or in distress. If a runner withdraws or retires from the event, they must notify the race organizer as soon as possible.

Registration and Logistics

The event has a total capacity of 200 places. Registration must be completed in advance, as there are no entries accepted on the night of the race. The event uses chip timing to record participant results. The race starts and finishes near the Walkers Car Park in Muirkirk. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
