The Scurry Around Vogrie Country Park Trail Running Festival takes place at Vogrie Country Park, Gorebridge EH23 4NU on 18 January 2026. The event includes trail races over mixed terrain that are clearly marked and marshaled. The race start and finish are set in front of the Victorian baronial manor house. Registration and race numbers are issued at the treetops cafe by the start/finish area. There is a permanent car park barrier and an exit fee of £3 per vehicle. There is no direct public transport to the park; buses and the Borders railway stop at Gorebridge, about a two-mile walk to the park.
Distances
- Half Marathon - two 10.55 km laps (mixed terrain, estate paths, woodlands, Tyne Valley)
- 10 km - two 5 km laps (mixed terrain around estate and Tyne Valley)
- 5 km - one 5 km lap (mixed terrain around estate and Tyne Valley)
- 1.6 km fun run - woodland loop on mixed surfaces
Course, facilities and rules
Courses use mixed surfaces - tarmac, grass, woodland tracks and mud. First aid is available at the start and finish areas. Hot and cold drinks, toilets and cafe facilities are available. Participants receive a race memento and medal in the Half, 10 km and 5 km; all fun run children receive a participant medal and memento. Prizes are awarded in Half, 10 km and 5 km categories. Wearing earphones is prohibited. Canicross, pushchairs and baby prams are not suitable on the main trail courses. Children under 10 in the fun run must be accompanied by an adult.
