Vogrie Country Park event overview
The Scurry Events trail running festival takes place at Vogrie Country Park, Tyne Valley (Gorebridge) on 18 January 2026. The event offers marked and marshaled mixed-terrain routes around the estate, woodlands, and the Tyne Valley. The race start and finish are set in front of the Victorian baronial manor house.
Distances
- Half Marathon - two 10.55 km laps, mixed terrain, passes through and around Pathhead
- 10 km - two 5 km laps, mixed terrain around estate paths and the Tyne Valley
- 5 km - one 5 km lap, mixed terrain around estate paths and woodlands
- 1.6 km fun run - woodland loop on mixed surfaces, untimed
Course, facilities and rules
The Half Marathon route includes the first 5 km within the park and a loop that passes through Pathhead and along the Tyne Valley. All routes are extensively signposted and marshaled. Race numbers are issued at registration. Chip timing may not be used; finish times will be published online after the event.
Prizes are awarded in the Half, 10 km and 5 km categories to top finishers and age groups; all Half, 10 km and 5 km entrants receive a memento and medal. Fun run participants receive a medal and memento; the fun run is not timed and has no prizes.
Facilities include public toilets, hot and cold drinks and snacks in the Tree Top Cafe, a post-race drink and snacks, and a small bag tent for kit. First aid will be available at the start and finish. Public transport does not serve the park directly; Gorebridge is the nearest stop with a walk to the park. The car park barrier operates and an exit fee applies. Earphones are prohibited; no dogs or pushchairs on the trail routes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
