Hidden Glen 10K

Hidden Glen is a countryside running event based at Monachyle Mhor Hotel, Balquhidder. The event offers two distances:

  • 10 km
  • 1 km fun run

The 10 km route follows the banks of Loch Doine and continues into Monachyle Glen. The first 2 km of the 10 km course are on tarmac; the remainder is trail and can be muddy or puddly. There are three water stops on the route at approximately 3 km, 6 km and 8.5 km. The route is fully marked with signs and marshals, and medical staff are positioned across the course.

Entries include electronic chip timing with integrated race numbers; timing chips are posted to participants about two weeks before the event. A replacement number can be issued on the day for a small fee. All participants receive a medal and water at the finish. Race hydration is supplied by Active Root and event photos are made available free after the race.

Age limits are 15 years and over for the 10 km and 5 years and over for the 1 km fun run, with under 5s able to run the fun run with adult supervision. Prize categories include male, female, non binary and other, with specific rules on minimum entries for awards and age group prizes. Dogs are not permitted. A hill race at Ardgarten on 13 June 2026 covering 7 km with 700 m ascent; the route is flagged from the summit and runners must carry specific kit including waterproofs, map and whistle.

A guided 10 km social trail run from Milngavie Train Station exploring the Clyde Coastal Path and parts of the West Highland Way. Led by a qualified, insured guide; trail shoes are mandatory and dogs and under 18s are not allowed.

A 96 mile ultra marathon along the West Highland Way from Milngavie to Fort William, with 14,760 ft of ascent and a 35 hour time limit. Entrants must be 20 or older, have motorised support and prior trail experience.
