The Hidden Glen 10K is a running event located at the Monachyle Mhor Hotel in Balquhidder. It features two distances: a 10 km race and a 1 km fun run.

The Course

The event starts at the boutique Monachyle Mhor Hotel. The 10 km route follows the banks of Loch Doine and runs into Monachyle Glen. The first 2 km are on tarmac, with the remainder on trail surfaces that can be muddy. Trail shoes are recommended. The course is fully marked with signs and has marshals and medical staff at key points. There are three water stations on the route.

Entry Details

Entry is open to participants aged 15 and over for the 10 km, and 5 and over for the fun run (with adult supervision for under-5s). There are four gender categories for entry: Male, Female, Non-binary, and Other. Prizes are awarded to the top three overall in each gender category if there are at least five participants. Age group prizes are also awarded under specific conditions. Disabled participants are welcome but are asked to contact the organizer before registering.

Participant Experience

The entry fee includes a professionally organized event, a medal for all participants, electronic chip timing, water at the finish, medical provision on the route, and free access to event photos. Facilities include toilets, changing tents, a baggage drop, first aid, and on-site parking. Hot and cold food and drinks are available for purchase.
