Simon Wake Comrie Hills Relay

The Simon Wake Comrie Hills Relay is a team-based event covering a total distance of 43 km with 1,733 m of ascent. The race consists of four stages that start and finish in Comrie village, following a route through the hills surrounding Glen Lednock. The relay is designed for teams of five participants, with a pair of runners required to complete the second leg together.

The course features a variety of terrain across its four legs:

  • Leg 1: A fully marked stage.
  • Leg 2: Rough mountain terrain completed by a pair of runners.
  • Leg 3: Rough mountain terrain with a marked section across the moor to aid navigation.
  • Leg 4: A partially marked stage.

The event includes categories for open, women's, and mixed teams. Mixed teams must include either two or three women. Additional categories are available for Open V40 and Female V40 teams. Prizes are awarded to the winning teams in these categories as well as to individual leg winners.

The race is held in memory of a former member of the Strathearn Harriers. Surplus proceeds from the event are used to support and promote junior hill running in Scotland, benefiting both national initiatives and local junior club sections. The organizers also hold a raffle on the day of the race to raise further funds for these causes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
