About the race
Ochil Ultra is a trail ultra event organised by Wee Run Events on the Ochil Hills between Stirling and Perth. The event offers multiple distance options along marked routes that use the Core Path Network and provide views across central Scotland.
Distances include:
- 30 miles from Auchterarder to Perth
- 50 miles from the sportscotland institute of sport, Stirling to Perth A limited-entry 100-mile option runs from Perth to Stirling and back and requires prior qualifying results and a support crew.
Course services and race features include marked and marshalled trails, water at checkpoints, drop-off bags conveyed to checkpoints (approximately every 10 miles), chip timing (KitST), GPS tracking (Geo Tracks), live results, medals for all finishers and prizes for top finishers by gender and non-binary categories. Professional photographers cover the course and finish; food, refreshments, toilets and sports massage are available at the finish. A medic team and event insurance are provided.
Safety and cut-off policy emphasise participant welfare. Organisers may ask slow-moving runners to retire, and a diversion route is used if runners do not reach the diversion point in time to avoid exposed terrain at night.
Compulsory kit includes a head torch, whistle, charged mobile phone, emergency blanket, emergency food and drink, the issued GPS tracker and emergency contact information. Entries are open for 2027, with stated entry prices from £40 for the 30 mile and £60 for the 50 mile. The next Ochil Ultra is scheduled for 25th September 2027.
