William Wallace Running Festival
The William Wallace Running Festival takes place in Stirling, Scotland on 9 October 2027. The event features multiple distances across routes that pass historic and natural landmarks in the Stirling area.
Distances include:
- 70 km Ultra: solo and relay teams of 3 or 6.
- 50 km Ultra: solo and relay teams of 3 or 6.
- 10 km Braveheart: flat out and back alongside the River Forth.
- 1 mile Wallace Warriors: traffic free flat run for younger participants.
The 70 km and 50 km events are loop courses that start in view of the Wallace Monument and run under the Ochil Hills. Routes pass sites such as the Battle of Bannockburn, Stirling Castle, Kings Park, Bridge of Allan and Cockburn Reservoir, and include sections through Campsie Fells, Jerah Forest and the riverside path. The ultra events allow relay stage changeovers in either three or six stages and include five aid stations.
The 10 km route is a flat out and back course that crosses Stirling Old Bridge and follows the River Forth. The 1 mile event uses the same start and finish area as the other festival races and is held on a traffic free flat course designed for younger runners.
