Acorn South by Five - Linn Park

Event Overview

This event is one race in the South By Five series. The series is based on the Glasgow race The South Side Six. Over a 12-week period, a 5km event is held in each of six parks. This specific event takes place in Linn Park. Participants can enter single events or the full series. To complete the series and become a "Fiver", runners must finish 5 of the 6 races.

Pricing and Registration

Entry for the race is free, but places are limited. There is a mandatory minimum donation to the Acorn Trails Community Fund, which supports local sports development and parks. Participants are also encouraged to bring donations for a local foodbank. Various merchandise options for the series are available during sign-up.

Additional Information

The event organiser partners with a local charity, Give A Dog A Bone…and an animal a home, which supports people over 60 in adopting rescue animals. A guided 8 km night trail run from Milngavie Train Station exploring the Clyde Coastal path and West Highland Way. Social pace with a qualified guide, mandatory trail shoes and headtorch, and no dogs or under 18s.

An uphill only hill race to the summit of Ben Ledi on 11 April 2026 covering 5.3 km and 760 m ascent, open entry with Scottish Athletics membership required for championship medals.

A hill race on 15 April 2026 covering 5.7 km with 380 m of ascent across Fairlie Glen and the summit plateau. Entries are limited to 150, and prizegiving with a hot drink and cake is held at Fairlie Parish Church.
