Trail Running Calendar North West (England) 2026-2027

Trail running events from Jenkin’s Field, Glenridding feature 10 km and 14 km routes with boat transfers to the start when available, compulsory kit checks for boarding, and well marked, marshalled courses along Ullswater’s eastern shore.

A relaxed canicross event at Mere Sands Wood on 1 November 2026 with a timed one mile and an optional 2.5 km social run. Mostly flat woodland trails with an on site visitor centre, cafe, toilets and parking.

Forest trail event in Grizedale Forest offering 5K and 10K route choices with views over Coniston Water. The course is fully marked, chip timed, and allows up to two dogs per runner with a suitable harness.

Tackle a scenic but testing fell race in Dunnerdale, Lake District: 8 km with a 550 m climb over rugged hills. Pre entry only, join solo or as a three person team for a classic Broughton Mills Village Hall start.

A November club organised trail race on a 5 mile route with marshals and marked signage. Registration and post race activity are at The Delph Tavern and car parking is at Upholland High School.

Timed event at Hardy Farm on a 5.3 km out and back course along the River Mersey. Participants may repeat laps to cover distances from 5 km to ultra within a seven hour limit and receive a finishers medal.

A 40 mile trail ultramarathon starting and finishing in Lymm that circumnavigates Warrington on tracks, paths and lanes. The 2026 race is on 14 November with solo, pair and four person relay entry options.

Tackle the sweeping slopes of Arnside Knott in the Dave Shinn Memorial Race, a testing 6 mile fell route with 333 m of climb. Enter on the day at Hollins Farm and enjoy cake, local camaraderie and stunning Lake District views.

A charity run at Stanley Park on 15 November 2026 supporting Breakthrough T1D. The 3.1 mile loop can be repeated for half marathon, marathon or ultra distances and finishers receive a bespoke medal.

A memorial fell race in Sunnyhurst Woods near Darwen, covering 6 km with 305 m of climb. The event supports Cardiac Risk in the Young and uses online entry only with a minimum age of 14 years.

A 27 km AL Fell Race around Pendle with 1473 m of ascent, requiring navigation and mandatory kit. The race is FRA licensed and enforces cut offs at CP4 and CP6.
