Lakeland Paws: Grizedale Growl

Lakeland Paws: Grizedale Growl takes place on 1 November 2026 in Grizedale Forest on the south side of the forest, with views across Coniston Water. The event is part of Season 5 and is the second of up to nine events in the series. The minimum age to enter is 16.

Courses run on wide forest paths and include a mix of forest roads and trails. The event uses individual starts for each athlete so that dogs have space at the start. Two dogs per runner are permitted on this course, and all dogs must be run on a suitable harness. Competitors may also take part without a dog.

There are two marked and chip timed course options; GPX files are available to download.

  • 10K loop, 250 m ascent
  • 5K route, 180 m ascent

Entries open 27 April 2026 and close 31 October 2026 at 12:00. The published entry fee is £20. The shorter route avoids some ascent and is presented as a lower-elevation option within the series. The course is announced as fully marked and chip timed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
