Lakeland Trails at Ullswater
This event takes place around Ullswater in the Lake District. The main event involves a boat journey with Ullswater Steamers to the start, accompanied by live music. If the boats cannot sail, alternative routes on the eastern shore of Ullswater are used.
Two distances are offered:
- Ullswater Trail Run 10k: A shorter event with a time limit of 2.5 hours. Minimum age is 16.
- Ullswater Trail Challenge/Race 14k: A longer event with a time limit of 2 hours (Race) or 3-3.5 hours (Challenge). Minimum age is 18. The alternative route includes a climb to Boredale Hause.
All courses are on trails with rocky and rooty sections. A post-event village features food stalls, merchandise for sale, and live music. Event parking costs £5 (cash only). Public transport via the Stagecoach 508 bus is available to Glenridding.
Mandatory kit includes a hat/Buff, gloves, waterproof jacket, and long leggings or overtrousers. In-ear headphones are not permitted on the course. Dogs are also not permitted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
