Lakeland Trails at Ullswater : 1 November 2026

Lakeland Trails at Ullswater is a trail running event based around Glenridding and the eastern shore of Ullswater on 1 November 2026. The event offers two distances:

  • 10k
  • 14k

Boat transport is used to take participants to the start; if boats cannot sail, well-marked contingency routes from Jenkin's Field are used. Courses follow mostly scenic trails with short sections of tarmac and include rocky and rooty sections that may be slippery. Runners should remain alert at a road crossing near the finish and close any gates they pass.

There are compulsory kit requirements: hat or Buff, gloves, a waterproof jacket, and long leggings or overtrousers. Kit is checked before boarding the boats and entry to the start is conditional on carrying this kit. Competitors must carry their own water and a cup because there are no water stations on the courses. In-ear headphones are not allowed; bone-conduction devices are permitted. Dogs are not permitted on the course.

Age and time limits apply: the 10k requires a minimum age of 16 and has a 2.5 hour limit; the 14k requires a minimum age of 18, with time limits that vary by start and category. Prize eligibility for the 14k is restricted to participants in the designated Race start.

The event village includes food and drink stalls, local traders, registration and baggage storage, medical cover and mountain rescue presence, merchandise and race commentary. Results are published live online. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
