Course and purpose

The route turns left at the bandstand, leaves the wood via the Lychgate carpark next to The Sunnyhurst pub, turns right to Waterman's Cottage, then left up the concrete path to Darwen Tower and around the moors. The descent returns via the pub into the woods and the finish is at the bandstand. The race is run in memory of a junior club member and raises funds for Cardiac Risk in the Young; funds raised have helped identify heart defects in over 60 people and totalled more than £100,000 to date.
