David Staff Memorial Race is a 6km fell race with 305m of climb, set on the West Pennine Moors above Darwen. The course starts on the main path opposite The Kiosk in Sunnyhurst Woods, follows the bandstand, leaves the wood via the Lychgate car park, and climbs to Waterman’s Cottage before heading up to Darwen Tower and around the moors, with a descent back to the woods and finish at the Bandstand. The event remembers a former Dashers member and raises funds for Cardiac Risk in the Young, supporting heart screening in the young.
