Manchester - Friday Frolic
This timed event is held on an out and back course along the River Mersey in Chorlton Water Park. The lap measures 5.3 km (3.28 miles). Participants may complete one lap or repeat laps up to a seven hour time limit; the minimum recognised distance is one lap.

Organisers operate a Lucky Dip of classic Phoenix medals. Participants pick a number and receive the mystery medal that corresponds to it; there are no exchanges and no peeking to keep the draw fair. All participants receive a giveaway medal or memento on completion.
The surface is off road towpath and the course has very little elevation change. An aid station is available throughout the day with vegetarian options, many vegan items and some gluten free options. Typical items include bananas, dates, sweets, crisps, cake, squash and cola. Participants with severe or life threatening allergies are advised to bring their own food due to possible cross contamination.
A race brief is distributed one week before the event and is mandatory reading for all participants. Facilities at Race HQ include toilets and changing rooms. Parking is available at Hardy Farm for 75 cars on a first come, first served basis, with additional parking across the river at Sale Water Park and other nearby public or paid parking.
