Striders Trail 5
Striders Trail 5 is a five mile trail race held in Sankey Valley Park in Blackbrook, St Helens. The course is mostly compact trail with some tarmac sections and includes uneven, muddy and rocky surfaces in places; appropriate footwear is recommended. Parts of the park are open to the public and there are a few sections where cars may be present; these points are marshalled and participants should take care and follow marshal instructions.
Event facilities are centred on the Sankey Visitors Centre on Blackbrook Road. Limited parking is available there and toilets are provided. Race numbers are collected on the day from the Visitors Centre. Baggage may be left at the Visitors Centre at the owner’s risk.
There are marshals along the entire route. There are no water stations on the course; water is provided at the finish as part of the finisher goody bag. All finishers receive a goody bag that includes a race memento. Post-race food and drinks are available at The Ship Inn at the race start area. The Rangoli Arms serves as Race HQ and provides event catering and prize handout facilities.
Prizes are awarded for overall 1st to 3rd male and female and for first place in age categories v40 through v65 for both sexes. Participants must be at least 15 years old on race day. Entries are non-refundable; number transfers may be possible if requested at least two weeks before the event. Organisers may alter or cancel the event for safety or weather reasons. Photographs and footage may be used to publicise the event, with removal on request. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
