About the race
Phoenix Running’s Manchester Hoofs, Horns and Paws Charity Run is a timed trail event at Hardy Farm in Chorlton Water Park alongside the River Mersey. Participants may complete as many or as few laps as they like within a seven-hour window; the minimum distance is 2.91 miles and everyone who finishes receives a bespoke finisher medal.
All profits from the event are shared equally between Save The Rhino and other local charities. The course follows an off-road riverside towpath with very little elevation gain, offering a predominantly flat route. A race brief is issued one week before the event and is mandatory reading for all participants.
A well-stocked vegetarian aid station is available throughout the day, with many vegan options and gluten free items; examples include bananas, dates, jelly sweets, crisps, cake, squash and full-sugar cola. Participants with severe or life-threatening allergies are asked to bring their own food due to the risk of cross-contamination.
Toilets and changing rooms are provided at Race HQ. Parking is available for 75 cars at Hardy Farm on a first-come, first-served basis, with additional parking for up to 100 cars across the river at Sale Water Park (about a 15-minute walk) and other public or paid parking nearby.
