Three Counties Trot
The Three Counties Trot is held each November by Billinge Running Club. The event is a 5 mile trail race on the club's local routes, described as scenic, varied, and a little muddy. The course is marshalled and marked with flags and signs, and a short race briefing precedes the start along with a minute of silence to mark remembrance weekend.
Event headquarters and registration are at The Delph Tavern WN5 8UN, where a bag drop will be provided; the Delph Tavern and the club are not responsible for belongings left there. Toilets are available at the Delph Tavern only; there are no toilets at the start. Tea and coffee are offered in the registration area. A GPX file for the route is provided for participants.
Car parking is a short walk from registration. The main car park is at Upholland High School WN5 7AL; the Delph Tavern car park is for drop off and event staff only. The race begins on the Janet Lalley fields across from Tontine Park. Running clubs may have banners or feather flags displayed, and club flags will be put up at the finish. Donations for the British Heart Foundation are collected at registration and at the race start.
After the race participants gather back at the Delph Tavern for post-race refreshments and socialising. Results and awards are presented following the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
