World Diabetes Day Run - Preston, Fylde & Wyre Running
The World Diabetes Day Run is scheduled for Sunday 15th November 2026 at Stanley Park, Blackpool, Lancashire FY3 9EQ. The event raises funds for Breakthrough T1D; all profits will be donated to this charity that supports research toward a cure for Type 1 diabetes.
The course is a 3.1 mile loop on mostly flat tarmac paths with a short section on a gravel path. Runners may complete as many or as few laps as they wish within a six hour time limit. A finisher who completes at least one lap will receive an official time and a post race gift. All finishers will be given a bespoke medal. Drinks plus sweet and savoury snacks will be provided during the event.
Distance options described by the organiser:
- Half marathon: 4 laps plus a short out and back.
- Marathon: 8 laps plus a short out and back.
- Ultra: 9 or more laps.
Entry fees are shown as £23.50 for affiliated runners and £25.50 for unattached runners. Age restrictions are specified: 18 to 19 year olds may race up to a marathon distance; entrants aged 20 and over have no maximum distance listed. The event holds Trail Running Association Race Permit Number 8055.
