PFW Running - World Diabetes Day Run

This event takes place on 15 November 2026 at Stanley Park, Blackpool. It is a six hour timed event held under UKA rules with a maximum of 100 entrants. World Diabetes Day is noted as a global awareness campaign focusing on diabetes.

The course is a 3.1 mile loop on mainly flat tarmac with a short section on gravel. Participants may complete as many or as few laps as they wish within the six hour time limit. Completing one lap qualifies as a finisher and earns an official time, a post race gift, and a medal. Drinks and sweet and savoury snacks are provided during the event.

Distance options include:

  • 3.1 mile loop
  • Half marathon: 4 laps plus short out and back
  • Marathon: 8 laps plus short out and back
  • Ultra: 9 or more laps

Age and entry rules are specified: minimum age 18 years; 18 to 19 year olds may run up to marathon distance; participants over 20 have no maximum distance. Entries close on 15 November 2026. Refunds are not permitted; transfers or deferrals are allowed up to one week before the event. All profits will be donated to Breakthrough T1D. A midweek fell race in Wray on 28 April 2026 covering 11 km with 335 m climb. Entry is on the day only with a £5 fee and teams of three are permitted.

Experience a traditional fell race in the scenic Lake District with the Storth Stampede. This event features a nine kilometer senior course and dedicated junior races for younger athletes looking to test their skills on the hills.

A club-organised fell race of 6 miles with 1109 ft of ascent held alongside junior races for ages 6 to under 18. The event is registered with the Fell Runners Association and forms part of the Pendle and Burnley Grand Prix series.

A midweek fell race around Scorton and Nicky Nook covering 5 miles (8 km) with about 1000 ft of ascent. The FRA-licensed event has a 140-runner limit, mandatory kit checks and free soup and a roll for participants afterwards.
