World Diabetes Day Run

The World Diabetes Day Run is organised by Preston, Fylde & Wyre Running and takes place in Stanley Park, Blackpool, Lancashire, FY3 9EQ on Sunday 15 November 2026. All profits from the event will be donated to Breakthrough T1D, a charity focused on finding a cure for Type 1 diabetes. The event also notes World Diabetes Day as an awareness campaign marking the birthday of Frederick Banting.

The course is a 3.1 mile loop on mainly flat tarmac paths with a short section on gravel. Participants may complete as many or as few laps as they wish within a six hour time limit. A finisher who completes at least one lap will receive an official time and a post race gift. All finishers receive a bespoke medal. Drinks and sweet and savoury snacks are provided during the event.

Entry fees are listed as: £23.50 for affiliated runners and £25.50 for unattached runners. Age restrictions apply: ages 18 to 19 have a maximum distance of a marathon, and participants over 20 have no maximum distance specified. A 5k obstacle event at Birkenhead Park on 17 May 2026 where participants climb, crawl and slide over grass and tarmac. Entries support Cancer Research UK fundraising, have a minimum target of £50 and require participants to be 13 or older.

A 3.5 mile fell race near Clitheroe with 1247 ft of ascent, on the partially marked Mearley Clough route. Entry on the day includes a pasta supper and prize vouchers, and under 18s need parental consent.

The 4th Coronation Trail Race is a 6 mile out and back trail event at Rivington Tea Room on 20 May 2026, organised by Horwich RMI Harriers. Entry is listed at £11.60 plus an administrative fee with limited on the day entries at extra cost.
