The World Diabetes Day Run takes place on Friday 14 November 2025 at Stanley Park, Blackpool, Lancashire, FY3 9EQ. The event is organised by PFW Running as a six-hour timed event with a maximum of 100 entrants. Entries close on 13/11/2025. Entry fees listed are £23.50 (affiliated) and £25.50 (unattached). All profits from the event will be donated to Breakthrough T1D, a charity focused on finding a cure for Type 1 diabetes. The Trail Running Association race permit number is listed as TBA.

Course and rules

The course is a 3.1 mile loop on mostly flat tarmac with a short section on gravel. Runners may complete as many or as few laps as they wish within the six hour limit. Distances described include:

  • 3.1 mile loop course
  • Half marathon: 4 laps plus short out and back
  • Marathon: 8 laps plus short out and back
  • Ultra: 9 or more laps

A competitor who completes at least one lap is recorded as a finisher and receives an official time and a post-race gift. Drinks and sweet and savoury snacks will be provided during the event. Minimum age to enter is 18 years; ages 18-19 have a maximum distance of marathon, while entrants over 20 have no maximum distance.
