Night Runner Delamere Forest

Round 1 of the Petzl Night Trail Running Race Series takes place at Delamere Forest with the start and finish based at the main visitors centre, Delamere Forest Visitor Centre, Cheshire CW8 2JD. The event encourages fancy dress and the theme for Delamere is "Spooky Halloween".

The course is marked with reflective signs. Runners must use a good quality head torch or hand held torch to light the route. The terrain is varied and often muddy, so road shoes are not adequate; trail or fell shoes with an aggressive tread are recommended. Because the event takes place in winter conditions, warm clothing is advised and a wind or waterproof jacket is recommended. Dogs may attend as supporters at the start and finish area but may not take part in the race.

Distances offered:

  • 10 km - 1 lap around the marked course.
  • Half Marathon - 2 laps of the marked course.
  • Kids 1 km - free event with medals for all finishers.

Entry fees are listed as £32 for the 10 km and £39 for the Half Marathon; the Half Marathon entry includes a custom finisher's medal. Entry includes a glow in the dark finisher's medal, electronic timing, and event photographs free to download in hi-res. Entries close at 12 noon on the Friday prior to the event or when the event fills. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
