Phoenix Running - Stretford / Manchester Friday Frolic

This is a timed running event held at Hardy Farm and using a 5.3 km (3.28 mile) out and back course along the River Mersey through Chorlton Water Park. Participants may run one lap or repeat laps to cover standard distances or longer distances within the event time limit. A finishers medal or memento is provided to participants.

Distances offered include:

• 5 km
• 10 km
• Half marathon
• Marathon
• Ultra

The minimum distance recorded is one lap equal to 3.28 miles. The event has a seven hour time limit for distance accumulation. The course is off road on a riverside towpath with very little elevation gain or loss.

An aid station is available throughout the event offering vegetarian options and many vegan and gluten free items; examples listed include bananas, dates, jelly sweets, crisps, cake, squash, and cola. Participants with severe life threatening allergies are asked to bring their own food due to possible cross contamination.

Facilities at Race HQ include toilets and changing rooms. Parking for 75 cars is available at Hardy Farm on a first come first served basis, with additional parking for up to 100 cars across the river at Sale Water Park about a 15 minute walk away. A mandatory race brief is sent to participants before the event. Distance restrictions apply to participants aged 20 or under under the organiser's terms and conditions.
