The Three Counties Trot

Orrell, United Kingdom • 8 Nov 2025

The Three Counties Trot is Billinge Running Club’s flagship 5-mile trail race, held each November in the Billinge area near Wigan. The route crosses three counties—Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Merseyside—on scenic, varied trails that are often muddy. Runners start at Janet Lalley Field (registrations at The Delph Tavern) and follow a fully marked, marshalled course through woodlands, rolling countryside and parkland. The event fosters a friendly, communal atmosphere, with a remembrance minute of silence and post-race celebrations at The Delph Tavern. There is nearby parking, and the route is fully marshalled and signed, with spectators adding to a welcoming atmosphere. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
