Trail Running calendar near Newmillerdam 2025-2026

A 7 hour timed run along the River Wear in Durham with cathedral views and looped laps from 3 km to 50 km. Aid stations, vegan options and finisher medals make it friendly for all abilities.

Tackle PECO XC League Race 5 at Roundhay Park, Leeds on 15 Feb 2026, a cross country test of about 4.5 to 5 miles over undulating terrain. Club runners contest men's and ladies divisions in this popular regional league.

Take on the Cracoe Cracker Challenge on 21 Feb 2026 with 12 or 25 mile routes through the Yorkshire Dales from Cracoe Village Hall. Well stocked checkpoints and a finish meal welcome runners and walkers 16+.

Tackle the Flower Scar Fell Race in Todmorden, a 13.3 km route with 660 m ascent over steep climbs, moor and fast Pennine paths. Expect rough terrain, strict winter kit rules and post race food and prizes.

Doctors Gate Fell Race in the Peak District is a classic 12.7 mile course with about 1000 m of climb across open moorland where navigation matters. Open to adults with on the day entry available, it is part of the FRA English Champs.

Tackle the 7 mile Eckington Epic on 22 February 2026, a self guided trail run through woodland, farmland and runnable climbs around Marsh Lane. Enjoy unmarked routes, a friendly community finish and simple UKA entry options.

Run the Knype Pools 5 on 22 February 2026 with Biddulph Running Club, a scenic 5 mile trail loop around Knypersley Reservoir. Support the mayor's chosen charity and enjoy a friendly pre race fun run and community atmosphere.

Take on Mr Sparkle's Dark Un, an 8.1 km night fell race around Tockholes with stiff climbs, open moorland and muddy descents under headtorch light. Limited to 100 runners, entry supports Bolton Mountain Rescue and the Red Cross.

Tibthorpe Loop is a circular half marathon in the Yorkshire Wolds on 28 Feb 2026, with undulating, easy to follow trails. It starts and finishes at Field House Camping with eco perks like a plantable medal and tree planting for finishers.

Tackle the Chester Ultra 50 mile trail around Chester, linking the Sandstone Trail, Delamere Forest and Helsby Hill within a 17 hour cut off. The 2026 event is sold out and mandatory kit plus a GPS tracker are required.

Challenge yourself at the South Pennine 24 on 28 February 2026, a 24 mile route with 3,900 ft of climb across wild moorland around Dovestone Reservoir. Fully supported with four checkpoints; event is full but a wait list is open.

Cannock Chase Wildwood Trail Series offers a 10K or half marathon through pine forest and open heath with steep climbs, fast descents and muddy technical trails. Canicross welcome and eco friendly wooden medals for finishers.

Run the Inov8 High Cup Nick Fell Race in Dufton on 28 Feb 2026, a scenic 15 km out and back to High Cup Nick along the Pennine Way. Entry supports the village hall and includes registration at the hall plus homemade soup and roll.

The Wingerworth Wobble is a 4.66 mile trail race through fields woods and rolling hills in Derbyshire. Expect a marked course, a runnable hill finish, a finisher medal and refreshments while supporting local causes.

Cloud Nine is a classic 9 mile fell race from Congleton to the summit of Bosley Cloud and back, offering rugged trails and great views. Entry is by pre registration only, places are limited and FRA mandatory kit rules apply.
