High Cup Nick Fell Race

The High Cup Nick Fell Race is an annual community fell race based in the village of Dufton. The route runs from the Village Green to High Cup Nick and back, covering approximately 15 km (around 9 miles) with roughly 450 m of ascent. The course is waymarked and uses sections of public paths and some private land used with the permission of local farmers.

The village hall acts as the event base and registration point. The race is organised as a fundraiser for the running and upkeep of Dufton Village Hall. Around 400 runners usually enter the event. Pre-entry is required, the stated entry fee is £15, and the minimum entry age is 18.

Race logistics are supported by village volunteers who provide marshals, car parking and post-race refreshments. The entry fee includes homemade soup and a roll. Organisers arrange a dedicated parking field outside the village to avoid congestion through the centre. Competitors are required to carry full FRA kit as specified by the event.
