Course Information

Cloud Nine is a fell race covering approximately 9 miles with an ascent of 1250 feet. The course is run under Fell Runners Association rules and is classified as BM. The majority of the route is off-road. For 2026, the course will be run in an anticlockwise direction with some route modifications, but the total distance remains 9 miles. Key features on the route include the ascent to Bosley Cloud and passing the ancient Bridestones.

Event Details

The event headquarters and registration are at Congleton Leisure Centre, with the race start at nearby Brunswick Wharf. There is a mandatory kit requirement: runners must carry full waterproof body cover, a hat, and gloves. Kit checks will be performed. A cut-off time of 70 minutes is enforced at a point approximately 4.6 miles into the race. Changing facilities and a baggage store are available at the leisure centre. The use of dogs, MP3 players, and GPS devices for navigation is not permitted.

Additional Information
