Crowden Horseshoe fell race

The Crowden Horseshoe fell race takes place on Sunday 16th August 2026 in Crowden. The event holds a Permit and carries UK Athletics insurance through the FRA. A 10-mile BM fell race across Saddleworth moorland with 1700 ft ascent, mandatory full kit, a safety cut-off, and a post-race Cake Competition offering prizes for best decoration and taste.

A hilly 3.75 mile cross country race at Mapplewell Meadows Farm, Barnsley, run on mostly grass with some gravel and possible muddy sections. Entries are limited to 150, with prizes across age categories and a corporate team trophy.
