The race headquarters is at St Michael's Church Hall, Church Street, Mytholmroyd, HX7 5DS. Public transport is encouraged; Mytholmroyd has a train station on the Leeds to Manchester Victoria line and is one stop from Hebden Bridge. Directions note a short walk or cycle path from Hebden Bridge station and local bus stops close to the church hall. Parking is limited and sharing is recommended. Additional parking is available at Grange Dene Medical Centre.

Entry fees vary by membership and entry method, with pre-entry and on the day options. Entry on the day may be accepted up to the stated race limit of 200. A bottle of Ossett Brewery White Rat beer is provided for all entries. Minimum age is 18 years.

The race is licensed by the Fell Runners Association under UKA rules as a non GPS navigation race. GPS may be used to record a route but not to aid navigation; use of GPS for safety navigation requires declaration as non competitive. FRA mandatory minimum kit is compulsory and checked before number allocation. The route starts on the bridge by Burnley Road Primary School, climbs across fields to Wicken Hill and Midgley Moor, crosses rough moorland including Crow Hill, follows the Calderdale Way, and returns along the original ascent route. Checkpoints are located on Crow Hill, at the foot of steps in the valley, and on the Calderdale Way. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
