Punk Panther Christmas Cracker

Punk Panther Christmas Cracker is a trail race held in and around Otley with routes that visit the Yorkshire Dales. The event offers three distances and now uses a mass start for the distances that share the same start. The finish is at The Bridge United Reform Church, Cattlemarket Street, Otley LS21 1RW.

Distances offered:

  • 32 miles ultra, 3400 ft climb
  • 19 miles trail, 2200 ft climb
  • 12 miles trail, 1700 ft climb

The event has a maximum entry limit of 100 and a minimum age of 18. There are three checkpoints on the course; the 32 mile route visits CP1, CP2, CP1 again and CP3, the 19 mile route visits CP1 and CP3, and the 12 mile route visits CP3 only. Checkpoints provide drinks, snacks and vegan and gluten free options. Competitors who arrive at a checkpoint after it has closed will be retired from the race.

All ultramarathon entrants are supplied with a tracker; trail runners may hire a tracker for an additional fee. Trackers include an emergency button; activating it ends the participant's race. A compulsory kit list applies to all distances and random kit checks may occur on course; items include a waterproof jacket, survival bag, whistle, map, head torch and basic first aid.

Finishers receive a medal and an event T-shirt unless they opt out. Dogs may run subject to event rules but are not permitted inside the finish church. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
