The event takes place in Mirfield, West Yorkshire, in the Peak District, and incorporates the 2026 Yorkshire U14, U16, U18 and U20 championship races. The course uses a newer layout introduced in 2021 and holds a Permit with associated UK Athletics insurance from the FRA. The race is listed as category BS and the minimum entry age is 6. Teams are not permitted.

The senior race is a fell course of 5 km / 3.1 miles with approximately 210 m climb. The course is hilly, run as a single lap, and is not suitable for wheelchairs.

Pre-entry is available; on-the-day entry is also offered but may be limited. Pre-entry fees for the senior race are listed as £5.50 for FRA members and £7.50 for non-members. An overall entry limit of 250 places is shown. Junior finishers receive chocolates.
