About the race
Rip n Run XL is a trail running event in West Yorkshire that follows routes around Ripponden with start and finish at Wadsworth Community Centre in Hebden Bridge. The event runs across two days in October 2027 and offers two distance options with a set time limit.
Distances
- 40 miles with about 5,800 ft of elevation.
- 80 miles completed as two laps with a combined time limit of 28 hours.
The course crosses wild open moorland and includes sustained climbs. There are four on-route checkpoints and the headquarters serves as an additional checkpoint. Two of the later checkpoints are indoors and provide toilets and shelter. Hot food is available at headquarters and soup is offered at the HQ checkpoint.
Entrants must be 18 or older on the event date. Entry fees are listed per distance and category, with an instalment payment option for the 80 mile entry. Entries are not accepted on the day; a wait list is used after entries close.
