Midgley Moor Fell Race

Midgley Moor is a club fell race run from Booth Cricket Club, Booth, Halifax (HX2 6TW). The advertised course is approximately 5 miles (8.04 km) with about 1250 ft (381 m) of climb. The route runs across paths and heather moorland and includes route choices where revised lines can give a faster way to the finish.

The route will only be partially flagged so some navigation is required. The race is licensed by the Fell Runners Association under UKA rules and is treated as a non GPS navigational event. Competitors may use GPS devices to record their route but electronic devices cannot be used to aid navigation except in an emergency; using GPS to navigate to safety must be declared and the runner recorded as non competitive.

FRA mandatory minimum kit is compulsory and includes waterproof full body cover with taped seams and attached hood, hat (not a buff), gloves, map, compass, whistle and emergency food. A kit check takes place before race numbers are issued; competitors without the correct kit will not be allowed to race.

Parking at the venue is very limited and may be up to about 1 km away, so car sharing is advised. Entrants must be at least 16 years old. Pre entry and on the day entry are available, with a race entry limit of 100 competitors. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
