Oktoberfest - Rodley
Oktoberfest is a canal-side trail running event organised by Its Grim Up North Running at Rodley Cricket Club, Canal Bank Sports Ground, Moss Bridge Road, Rodley, Leeds. Routes follow the Leeds & Liverpool Canal towpath.
The course is generally flat with gentle elevation around locks. The event is chip-timed and fully marshalled. Feed stations are provided approximately every 3 miles; the event is cup-less so runners should carry a bottle or cup. All finishers receive a bespoke medal and post-race treats. The event holds a Trail Running Association (TRA) licence. Parking at the cricket club is charged at £5 cash to support club funds. There are bus links from Leeds, Keighley, Shipley, Bingley and Bradford; car sharing is encouraged.
GPX route files are available to download before race day. Over-ear headphones are not permitted; bone-conducting or one-in/one-out devices are allowed. Withdrawals should be reported to a marshal and distance drops are sometimes allowed. Transfers and deferrals can be made online up to 72 hours before the event.
