Heights Ultra Trail (HUTFEST26)

Heights Ultra Trail is a charity trail running festival held at Broad Oak Cricket Club, Linthwaite, Huddersfield on 19 September 2026. The event highlights local moorland, reservoirs and Pennine trails and supports local rural primary schools and local rescue teams. The festival is volunteer run and entry fees contribute to community causes.

Distances offered include:

  • 50 Mile Ultra Trail
  • 50KM Ultra Trail
  • 27KM Trail Run
  • 10KM Trail Run

Routes are fully waymarked with HUT signage, arrows and flags. Open moorland sections require awareness and basic navigation skills; ultra entries include a waterproof route map. Signage begins at about 3.5 km on the longer routes and the final 4 km are heavily marked back to the finish.

For the 50 Mile and 50KM events a set of mandatory kit is required, including waterproof jacket and trousers, long sleeve top, hat and gloves, water container or mug, compass and whistle, bivy bag, mobile phone for emergencies, money and a torch for the 50 Mile. Kit checks take place at the start and finish and failure to carry required items may lead to disqualification.

Checkpoints and feed stations are supplied with sandwiches, hot food, cakes, fruit and drinks. Main parking is available at the event centre; the nearest station is Slaithwaite with local bus connections. The event is licensed by the TRA under UKA rules. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
