Stanza Stones Winter Edition

Stanza Stones Winter Edition is a timed 24 hour linear trail event from Marsden in West Yorkshire to Ilkley. The route covers approximately 51 miles and includes over 6,600 ft of ascent. Participants follow a line that visits six Stanza Stones, each bearing an inscribed poem linked to the theme of water; the stone names are Snow, Rain, Mist, Dew, Puddle and Beck.

The course crosses moorland of the South Pennines and passes through the village of Haworth before ascending Ilkley Moor toward the finish. The event offers multiple support and facilities including live tracking, six checkpoints (three indoors) each providing food and drink, professional medical and rescue support, a finishers meal and a finishers memento. Changing rooms and hot showers are available at the finish. There is an option to register at either end of the route.

Entry is limited to adults with a minimum age of 20 years. Entry fees are listed as UKA Member £95.00 and Non Member £97.00, with an instalment option available. Optional paid extras are offered, including overnight bunk rooms at the finish venue, coach transport from Ilkley to the start, and event clothing.
