PieAthlon 2026
The PieAthlon is a combined running and tasting event held in Longwood, Huddersfield. It features a 6 km trail run with three pie stations along the route where participants can sample pies. The course is mainly off road, passes through fields and the area known as the "bog of doom", and offers views of the surrounding Longwood area. The event starts and finishes at The Dusty Miller Pub, 2 Gilead Road, Huddersfield, HD3 4XH.
The event is organised by the 25th Salendine Nook Scout Group in collaboration with The Dusty Miller Pub. Money raised is reinvested in the event and into the Scout Group. Entries carry an entry fee of £20 and the minimum age to enter is 14. Medals are presented to all entrants and prizes are awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall, 1st lady, 1st junior and best fancy dress. Fancy dress is encouraged and a prize is given for the best costume.
Practical details include limited parking near the start and limited parking on Longwood Edge Road, an hourly 356 bus from Huddersfield bus station to Longwood Terminus near the start, a baggage drop stored at The Dusty Miller, no shower facilities, muddy conditions likely, and that well behaved dogs are allowed but must be under control as the route may pass livestock.
