PieAthlon 2026
The PieAthlon is a combined trail run and pie tasting event held in Longwood, Huddersfield, starting and finishing at The Dusty Miller Pub. The course covers a 6 km mainly off‑road route with three pie stations along the way. The route passes varied terrain, including a section known as the "bog of doom", and offers views of the surrounding area.
The event is organised by the 25th Salendine Nook Scout Group in collaboration with The Dusty Miller Pub. Money raised is reinvested in the event and into the Scout Group. Medals are presented to all finishers and prizes are awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places, 1st lady, 1st junior and Best Fancy Dress. Fancy dress is encouraged and a prize will be given for the best costume.
Entry details listed for the event include an age minimum of 14 or older, an entry fee of £20.00, entries opening 29 July 2026 and closing 20 November 2026. Parking near the start is very limited and parking further away is recommended. The 356 bus provides an hourly service to the Longwood terminus near the pub. Baggage can be left at The Dusty Miller; there are no shower facilities. The route can be muddy. Well behaved dogs are allowed but must be under control.
