Peak District South & North
Peak District South & North is a two-day late autumn trail running weekend based in Edale, Peak District. The event covers classic trails in the White Peak and Dark Peak and follows sections of the Pennine Way and the Pennine Bridleway. The route is not waymarked beyond fixed finger posts but is entirely on public rights of way. GPX files and navigation notes are provided to entrants in advance.
Distances offered:
- 50 km White Peak route
- 43 km Dark Peak route
- 93 km Both days combined
Reported total ascent for the 50 km day is 1439 metres and for the 43 km day is 1649 metres. Several on-course refreshment and drink points are provided, with hot food and refreshments available at the finish. All race transport is included. Finishers receive eco medals and winners receive trophies; age category trophies are awarded on the 93 km course. The event is held under a Trail Running Association permit and follows England Athletics competition rules. Participants must be 20 years or older on race day.
The weekend includes low-cost bunkroom and breakfast options and bookable hostel accommodation. The village near race HQ has additional local B&B accommodation, pubs and shops.
