Gathering Winter Fools Relay
The Gathering Winter Fools Relay is a social team relay held around Keighley using a circular route of footpaths, trails and quiet roads. The event is based at Carlton Hall, Keighley, and is organised by Keighley & Craven AC.
Teams consist of multiple members who run the course in pairs across 4 legs, with low-level changeover points typically located outside a pub. The final leg includes a section beside Dalton Lane Mill and crosses Dalton Lane; the path is reported to be unaffected following a recent fire at the mill.
Entry is limited to a maximum of 40 teams and categories include Male/Open, Female and Mixed. The entry fee is £48 per team. Entries open 16 September 2026 and close 30 November 2026. Teams may be entered as a single team entry and team members can be updated later.
Practical support at the event includes hot and cold drinks available at the start and food provided at the finish, with pies offered previously and vegan or vegetarian options available on request. Route descriptions, maps, a Strava route and a GPX file are provided for the race. A full race briefing is distributed about one week before the event. Various team prizes are awarded.
