Event overview

First Light Adventure stages a series of trail races around the eastern fringes of the Peak District in Derbyshire. Events take place on moorland, farmland, woodland and restored mining areas and use a mix of marked sections and GPX/route notes. Races are organised under permit from the Association of Running Clubs where stated. Most events include marshals, checkpoints or aid stations, and finishers receive a medal and light refreshments. Parking is free at several race headquarters; one event lists a small charge for reservoir parking.

Course features and support

Several races specify time limits and cut-offs (examples include 3 hours, 3.5 hours, 6 hours and 9 hours). Checkpoint provision varies by event: some offer drinks only, others provide proper food and multiple stocked checkpoints. GPX files and route notes are available for many routes and basic navigation skills are recommended on less obvious sections. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
