Minninglow March
The Minninglow March follows a circular route from the village of Parwich in the Derbyshire Dales, a few miles north of Ashbourne. The route is approximately 17 miles long and includes about 2,000 ft of ascent over trail and open access land.
This is a self-navigation event using public rights of way, well-used trails and open access areas. Participants must be confident using a GPX navigation system on a watch or phone or a physical map and compass. Mandatory kit must be carried by all participants.
The event includes a collect and deliver element called The Quest. Competitors visit two points of interest on the route, collect a card at each and deliver them to the finish. Spot prizes will be given for unusual card combinations.
There are three aid stations on the route serving light refreshments, sweets, crisps and water, with locations at about 3.5 miles, 9.4 miles and 14 miles. The event welcomes runners and fast walkers. An overall cut-off of six hours applies, requiring a sustained pace over trail terrain and hills. Dogs are not permitted.
Included with entry are specific event parking a short walk from the start and finish, a finishers memento embroidered patch, a goody bag, GPX of the route, event photos and published results. The event is held under UK Athletics rules and carries TRA license number 8431. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
