Minninglow March
The Minninglow March is a circular route starting and finishing in the village of Parwich, a few miles north of Ashbourne in the Derbyshire Dales. The route is approximately 17 miles long with 2,000 ft of elevation and follows a mixture of public rights of way, well used trails and open access land.
This is a self navigation event. Participants must be confident using either a GPX navigation system on a watch or phone or a physical map and compass. Mandatory kit must be carried by all participants. Dogs are not permitted.
The event includes a collect and deliver element called The Quest. Participants visit two points of interest on the route, collect a card at each and deliver both cards to the finish for a chance at spot prizes for unusual card combinations.
There are three aid stations providing light refreshments and snacks including water, sweets, crisps and REAL COCA COLA. Approximate locations of the aid stations are at 3.5 miles, 9.4 miles and 14 miles along the route. The overall cut off for the event is six hours, which implies an expected pace of around three miles per hour over trail terrain and hills.
Entries include specific event parking in Parwich, a finishers memento embroidered patch, a finishers goody bag, a GPX of the route, free event photos and published results within 24 hours. The event is held under UK Athletics rules and carries a TRA licence number to be confirmed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
