Minninglow March
The Minninglow March is a circular, self-navigation event based in the village of Parwich in the Derbyshire Dales, a few miles north of Ashbourne. The route is approximately 17 miles long with around 2,000 ft of total ascent. Participants must be confident navigating with a GPX file on a watch or phone or with a physical map and compass.
The event includes a collect and deliver element called The Quest. Competitors visit two points of interest on the route, collect a card from each, and deliver them to the finish for spot prizes based on combinations of cards. There are three aid stations offering light refreshments, sweets, crisps and water, with locations at about 3.5 miles, 9.4 miles and 14 miles along the route.
Runners and fast walkers may take part. The overall cut-off for the event is six hours, which equates to an expected pace of roughly three miles per hour over trail terrain and varying hills. Mandatory kit must be carried by all participants. Dogs are not permitted.
Included with entry are specific event parking in Parwich located a short walk from the start and finish area, a finishers memento embroidered patch, a finishers goody bag, a GPX of the route, free event photos, and published results within 24 hours. The event is held under UK Athletics rules with TRA licence details to be confirmed. The minimum age for entry is 18. Entries open 21 December 2025 and close 8 July 2026.
