Peak Forest Fell Race
The Peak Forest Fell Race is a fell running event held in the Peak District countryside. The course covers a distance of 9.7 km and includes a total ascent of 247 m. The route is marked at key locations throughout the course, and marshals are positioned at specific points to guide participants.
The event starts from the location of the former village store on Church Lane in Peak Forest. Participants must be 18 years or older on the day of the event to take part. Registration is available in advance or on the day of the race at the Peak Forest Reading Room, situated near the village traffic lights.
Free car parking is provided for attendees on the village recreation ground, with signs in place to direct drivers to the designated area. After the completion of the race, hot drinks and cakes are served to participants. Historical course records for this event date back several decades, with the current men's record established in 1987 and the women's record set in 1994.
