Mr Sparkle's Dark Un takes place on 27 February 2026 at the Royal Hotel, Tockholes, Darwen (BB3 0PA). Entries open 25 December 2025 and close 16 February 2026. Entry fee is £6.50. Entries are limited to 100 places. Minimum age is 18 on the event date. A donation will be made from the funds raised to Bolton Mountain Rescue and the Red Cross.

Course and requirements

The event is a night-time fell race that starts and finishes at the Royal Hotel. The course is categorised as BS: 8.1 km with 214 m of climb. The route features a couple of stiff climbs, open moorland, muddy sections and a descent to the finish. The course will be marshalled and marked, but participants should be competent navigators.

Full body cover must be used or carried and a headtorch must be used. There will be a kit check. Organisers request use of the car park next to the pub and encourage car sharing. Course record times are female 35:51 and male 32:07. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
