Mr Sparkle's Dark 'Un

This is a headtorch fell race. It starts from the Royal Hotel in Tockholes, Darwen.

The race covers a distance of 8.1 km with 214 m of climb. It takes place on a Friday in late February.

Participants can expect climbs, open moorland, and mud. The course will be marshalled and marked, but runners should be competent navigators. There is a kit check; full body cover must be carried and a headtorch must be used. The minimum age to enter is 18 years.

The entry fee is £6.50. Online entry is via SiEntries, with a waiting list. Entries close in mid-February. A donation from the funds raised will be made to Bolton Mountain Rescue and the Red Cross.
