Manchester to Liverpool Ultra 50

The Manchester to Liverpool Ultra is a 50 mile trail race that follows the Trans-Pennine Trail, the Manchester Ship Canal and the River Mersey from Manchester to Liverpool. The course is described as well marked and relatively fast, with total elevation of 123 m and a 14 hour overall cut off. The event has a field of 750 places and entry fees are listed at £129 unaffiliated and £127 affiliated.

The race is licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UK Athletics rules. Entrants must be at least 20 years old and must have completed an organised marathon prior to race day. The start venue is Imperial War Museum North in Manchester and the finish is at North End Sports and Social Club in Liverpool.

The event provides live online GPS tracking, race timing, and six checkpoints staffed by the organiser. Checkpoints offer refreshments including water, electrolyte drink, cola and food, and medical or first responder cover is available. Mandatory kit must be carried at all times and includes items such as a waterproof coat, headtorches, a minimum 1 litre water container, a whistle and the race GPS tracker provided by the organiser. Take on the Ossy Moors Fell Race in Oswaldtwistle on Wednesday 15 April 2026. This lively 5 mile fell course with about 300 m of climb weaves Bowland trails and offers on the day entry for a friendly competitive vibe.

Herod Farm Fell Race is a classic mid-week fell run. The course covers 3 miles with 1,100ft of ascent. Race HQ at Jubilee House offers parking, toilets, and post-race refreshments.
