The Halifax Urban Trail is a trail race held on Monday 6 April 2026, starting at Shibden Hall in Halifax. The route is a trail course of just over 10K that runs along tracks and paths to Beacon Hill, then descends into the town. The town section includes passages through several landmark buildings, including Halifax Minster (Grade I listed), the Piece Hall, the Borough Market, the Dean Clough complex and Halifax Town Hall with access to the Council Chamber. Several places on the route are not normally open to the public. The event is the inaugural edition and supports the Calderdale hospice Overgate, which is fundraising for a new building project.

Entry details and policies

Entries open 2 October 2025 and close 1 April 2026. The minimum age is 18 on the event date. Entry fees are listed as UKA member £23.00 and non-member £25.00. At the time of the listing there are 174 participants entered. Entry is managed through the SiEntries system and requires logging in or registering with SiEntries. If a participant withdraws, the organiser may offer a place in the 2027 event or the option to donate the entry to Overgate Hospice. In the event of cancellation, options include a place in the following year, donation of the entry fee to Overgate Hospice, or a refund.
