The Eckington Epic is a 7-mile self-guided trail race held on 22 February 2026. The event is organised by Peaks and Dales Guiding and starts and finishes at Green Lawns Community Centre, Marsh Lane, Derbyshire, S21 5RX. Entry fees are £5 for UK Athletics (UKA) affiliated runners and £7 for unaffiliated runners. Entries open on 13 November 2025 and close on 21 February 2026. The minimum age to take part is 18. No dogs are permitted. Refunds are only given if the race is cancelled.

Course, rules and logistics

The route runs on trails around Eckington and Marsh Lane, south of Sheffield, using woodland paths, farmland and easy bridleways. The course includes runnable sections and some climbs. The event is self-guided: runners receive written instructions on the day, there are no GPX files, and there are no marshals on the route. Participants are timed out at the start and timed in at the finish. The race is held under UK Athletics rules and UKA-affiliated runners receive a discount. Runners are required to carry a waterproof jacket, warm layers, water, and a working mobile phone with the race director's contact saved for safety.
