Event Overview
The Ranger Ultras PB230km Trail Challenge is a 230-kilometer trail run with a 75-hour time limit. The total elevation gain is 6162 meters. The route follows sections of the Pennine Bridleway National Trail and other well-defined scenic upland paths, passing through the Peak District, West Yorkshire, North Yorkshire moors, and finishing in Cumbria.
Route and Logistics
The course uses established trails and rights of way. Organizers do not add course signage, so participants navigate using provided GPX files and route notes. A Ranger Safety Team provides support at race headquarters, indoor checkpoints, and on-course water stations.
Checkpoints and Amenities
There are two main indoor checkpoints. Checkpoint 1 is in Hebden Bridge (93 km from start), and Checkpoint 2 is in Settle (69 km from CP1). Each indoor checkpoint provides hot meals, hot drinks, showers, and sleeping space or bunk beds. Participants can access a personal drop bag at each checkpoint and the finish line. The finish venue in Kirkby Stephen offers a celebratory meal and bunkhouse accommodation.
Schedule and Rules
Race headquarters are at The Peak Centre in Edale. Registration and kit check occur the evening before the race. The race starts from The Peak Centre. A pre-race breakfast is provided. A maximum of 30 entries are available.

The entry fee includes registration, pre-start breakfast, hot meals and refreshments at indoor checkpoints and the finish, access to drop bags, safety team support, GPX file and navigation notes, a finisher's medal, and trophies for the first male and female finishers, as well as age category winners.
