Event Details

This is a 7-hour time challenge event where runners have full control over the distance they complete. The minimum distance is 3 km. A standard lap is approximately 4.37 miles (7 km), though this may change to a 3.28-mile loop depending on course conditions. There are designated 3 km and 5 km turn points within the lap to accommodate younger runners. Participants can run as many laps as they wish within the time limit, with 3 laps equating to a half marathon, 6 laps to a marathon, and 7 or more laps to an ultra-marathon. A 50 km distance option is also available.

Course and Venue

The event takes place at the Durham Amateur Rowing Club. The course is a flat trail route along the River Wear, offering views of Durham Cathedral. The route is fully signed.

Amenities and Rules

All finishers completing at least 3 km receive a finisher's medal. Distance pins are awarded for completing a half marathon or greater. A selection of snacks and drinks, including vegan options, is available at the aid station. Goody bags are provided for all finishers, with a vegan option available upon request. Toilet and changing facilities are available at the venue, though use of changing rooms depends on the Rowing Club's rules. Limited free on-street parking is available nearby.
